The Retirement Resource Organization welcomes gifts of real property including vacation homes, farms and commercial buildings. We call these gifts "Trade Lands" because after you donate your property, we sell it and use the proceeds to help fund efforts to protect and preserve natural areas. These gifts can provide you with significant tax and financial advantages. If you are interested in donating "special use" land you wish to see utilized in a specified manner, please contact your local Retirement Resource Organization office for more information.

  • Eliminate Management Hassles - By donating the property you will no longer need to maintain it, market it or handle the sale.
  • Generate Income - By funding a charitable remainder unitrust with real estate, you and/or others could receive income for life or a term of years.
  • Leave a Legacy - Your gift will ensure retirees and caregivers will be provided for in future generations.
  • Minimum Dollar Amount: $50,000 (outright); $100,000 to fund a charitable remainder unitrust or donor advised fund.

How It Works
Bill no longer had a need for his second home that had appreciated in value over the years. He donated it as a "Trade Land" to the Organization. When we sold the home, it provided vitally needed funds to provide material and financial assist to retirees and caregivers around the state. Bill received an immediate income tax charitable deduction (equal to the market value of the property) and greatly appreciated the tax savings.
